Duane Vandenbusche, author of The Black Canyon of Gunnison Thursday, March 4th 7 P.M. at Old Rock Community Library Historian and master storyteller Duane Vandenbusche will spin tales from the perilous 1901 Torrence-Fellows expedition into the then-untamed Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The adventure will start at 7 p.m. at the Old Rock Library and will be followed by refreshments and a book-signing of Vandenbuche's newest book, The Black Canyon of the Gunnison. All are welcome.

Women In History Slide Show and Book Swap Social Thursday, March 18 7 P.M. at Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum
Everyone is invited to an evening called "Writing Women Back Into History." A slide show and display of artifacts will honor the role of women in local and Colorado history, followed by a women's history book swap social. Wednesday March 24th 7 P.M. at Old Rock Community Library Join us for an informative discussion with Paul Edwards on Abraham Lincoln
Paul Edwards, who is a professor of Communication and Theater at Western State College, will share his scholarly interest in Abraham Lincoln. He also has a citizen’s interest in knowing and understanding as much as he can about a man who was instrumental in preserving our nation during a time of great internal peril. He has taught the honors’ course at Western centered on the Garry Wills’ book LINCOLN AT GETTYSBURG. On March 24 he will focus on David Herbert Donald’s 1996 biography of Lincoln.
