Breaking News: We have just confirmed that Donald Maass will be attending the Crested Butte Writers Conference and giving a 2 hour workshop on his new book, Putting Fire in your Fiction, scheduled for release in May. We will be one of the first to have him do that workshop, and we're thrilled about that prospect!
In addition, Lisa Rector, a fantastic freelance editor who specializes in late draft writing, will also give a workshop at the CB Writers Conference on the Sagging Middle.

The following acquiring agents and editors will attend:
  • Adam Wilson, editor at MIRA (and final judge for the romance category of the Sandy contest)
  • Katherine Nintzel, Editor at Harper Collins (and final judge for the mainstream adult fiction category)
  • Colleen Lindsay, Agent at Fine Print Literary Management
  • Donald Maass, Maass Agency
Attendees have an opportunity to meet with editors and agents to discuss their manuscripts.

Our Keynote Speaker for the 2009 Conference will be William Bernhardt, bestselling author of legal thrillers. Mr. Bernhardt has also graciously agreed to lead a workshop and an additional talk.

Aryn Kyle, author of the national best seller, The God of Animals, will host a critique workshop of 20 manuscript pages with attendees who write YA and adult fiction. Details to follow.

Rocky Mountian Fiction Writers’ own Tina Ann Forkner will talk about her newest book, Rose House and share her experiences about balancing the purity/integrity of writing with the commercial success of an author's books.

This year we also have an exciting new venue at the Grand Lodge at Crested Butte

We will update this page with new conference information.
