Mission Statement

The Mission of the CB library is to help maintain and improve the quality of life for all residents of our county and visitors to our libraries, by providing resources that enhance and contribute to individual knowledge, enlightenment, and enjoyment in the most efficient and technologically sound manner possible. The District’s goal is for its Libraries to be the learning centres of the County and the places people turn to for the discovery of ideas, the joy of reading and the power of information.

Get a Library Card

Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in Gunnison County may apply for a library card.  Western State Colorado University students are also eligible. Proof of residency or employment and an application (signed by a parent or guardian if the applicant is under 13 years old) are required.

Persons residing outside of Gunnison County may also use the Library’s materials and equipment by presenting a driver’s license, or another official form of identification, such as a passport or student ID.  A local address with the telephone number is required, as well as an application.

Computer Use Procedures
In order to ensure fair and equal access for all library users, we do require that you login with a library card number to use the computer. The computers are available for a ½ hour session. If there is no one else waiting for a computer, you can extend your session time as available.

If you are not eligible for a library card, you can ask at the desk for a guest pass.

All computers users must agree to our Internet Policy.
